Ok, so we've had a good start with everyone commenting on the front page of the Wiki. Now it's time to use the wiki. Let's try posting stuff on the fundraising section, creating a Team Name blog, answering some of the starter questions about Rica, creating some questions on our own, etc... Enought on the front page, let's go inside the Wiki!

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great break. Remember that the deposit is due by noon tomorrow and we have a meeting at 4:45. We're going to take a group picture tomorrow to go with our letters, so be ready for that.
I raised $700 dollars while I was home! Turns out people like giving money once they're full and happy. Yay for Thanksgiving.

Debra Huff has reserved a table for us tomorrow at the Craft Fair. I need to know times that people can work, and if you all have any creative ideas, or things that you can contribute. I need a reply from everyone please. :)
So... if you're available from 9-5 please let me know. It would be a tremendous help. I'll send a reply once I get a schedule set up. Thanks!
Lets all support it and get some more money raised.

If you help you will get portions of the money! :)
Incentive! Incentive!
So.... I have some photography that I can print.
We could make creative cards, bookmarks, pretty much anything! :)

I am done with stuff around 1 so I can head over and help do whatever. Also, I have tons of digital photos that I can throw in the mix, but how are you getting yours printed?
Does anyone make jewelry? That could be a hot item. Ask your friends, guys, and see if they would like to donate their talents to our cause!

Wonderful Jaime! That sounds great. So I'll put you down from 9-10:50... if thats ok. :)
And Awesome Lindsay! If you will be there starting at 1 and work until maybe 3. I'm done with class at 3 so I can come join you, or you can leave then, whatever you'd like to do.
SURE! Your digital photos would be stellar to have as well. I'm getting mine printed through CVS. You can create an account, upload them, and email them to CVS. I don't have anything to make jewelry with. I don't mind helping with it though. ALSO... Can we bake things for this? Thats a good question. If so... we could definitely have people bake some things.

So we still need help from about 10:45 am-1 pm and from 4-5 pm. You are welcome to join others at the other times. It would be great if we had 2 people at the table at all times. The lunch hour will probably be the busiest, so we will need 2 people there for that.
We'll also need some signs, and even a donation box explaining it, and even a picture of the group, and what we plan to do in Costa Rica. The sign or poster could say "HELP SUPPORT OUR MISSION TRIP TO COSTA RICA" You can get as creative as you'd like. Anyone willing to work on these as well. If they see its for a great cause, they'll probably be willing to help!! :)
These are just a few other ideas.

Great Jessica! I'll put you down for 4, so if you can get there just a few minutes early, say 3:50 or so, I'll show you whats going on. :)

I get out of class at 1 so count me in all evening. I too was not blessed with an artsy bone in my poor, literal minded brain, so consider me emotional support. I can most definately make a sign if someone would like to provide the group picture. I don't have class in the morning so I can drop the sign off when it starts.

Hey Gang -- So I started deleting some of the older posts so we wouldn't have to scroll for eternity to get to the new posts, but it got rather difficult. So I stopped -- but please start using the inside pages for comments too! That way we don't have all our comments on one page... you can of course make new pages too - just be sure to link them from the frontpage! Amy

So the Schedule is as follows:
8- Sometime after 8 I'll go set up Anyone can join if available/ Kayla drops sign off
9- Jaime
10-10:50ish Jaime
10:50-12 **********************NO ONE
12- Tina/Kaitlyn
1- Lindsay/Kayla
2- Lindsay/Kayla/Tina
3- Kaitlyn/Kayla/Tina
4-5 Jessica/Kayla/Tina
So as long as there is one person at the table, others can take breaks, or go grab lunches or something.
TINA- I'm so stoked to hear that you're making fudge!! This is awesome! Its gonna be great!
KAYLA- I'm so glad you're making a sign. Bring it by sometime before 9, if possible.
We still need someone from around 10:50 to 12. IS ANYONE AVAILABLE? :)
Thanks.

Remember to send your travel grant paragraph to Travis by the end of the week! Many thank yous!
Also - Who wants to create a facebook group "Support MHC's ASB Trip to Pursical, Costa Rica" ?? I think it would be AWESOME to have a group we could send to ALL our friends explaining our Alternative Spring Break, our values, why we are going, all the other awesome stuff you've started putting in fundraising letters and then sharing that if they wish to support the cause checks made out to Mars Hill College can be sent to LifeWorks Attn: Amy Carraux PO Box 6677, Mars Hill, NC 28754. We can provide a tax deductible receipt.

Information on Needed Vaccinations posted to "ASB 2009 Team Head Quarters" Check it out! This is a fantastic thing to start doing over Christmas Break! Both Hepatitis A & B are three shot series - even though you only need to have one to go.
Please bring us copy of your record of immunizations and passport -- we'll need both your immunization record and passport for visas and getting into Costa Rica!

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – The death toll from a strong earthquake that rocked Costa Rica has risen to 14 with at least 22 people still missing, the Red Cross said Friday.
The magnitude-6.1 quake shook the Central American nation Thursday afternoon, collapsing homes, setting off landslides that blocked major highways and trapping hundreds of people including foreign tourists in damaged mountain towns.
Red Cross spokesman Freddy Roman said the dead include 7- and 11-year-old sisters buried in a landslide and a woman who suffered a heart attack in the capital, San Jose.
He said more than 1,200 people were still trapped in the hardest hit zone — a mountainous area with few access roads, most of which were blocked by landslides.
"We are trying to evacuate these areas as soon as possible," Roman said.
Many residents of the area are small farmers who raise livestock or grow strawberries and ornamental plants. The region has also seen increased tourism in recent years.

Hello everyone. I put the group picture on, check out the fundraising page, and I added our student presentation groups to the team headquarters page. I didn't get a chance to write down our two fundraising groups so if anyone has those I would love if you could put those on here :)
